There are many articles and blogs talking about the secrets to great health and wellbeing. It was so tempting to do the same, though let’s get real about this, they are not really secrets. The world is becoming switched on about the law of attraction, the hazards of processed foods and the benefits of wholesome organic food.
We all know when we start to focus of feeling better, then the universe will line situations and opportunities in our way, and you reading this could even be one of those opportunities.
Onwards and Upwards….
So I am writing a 5 part blog series focusing on what I believe are the steps to take to good health. Step one is what we put into our mouth and this does not necessarily have to be food. Step 2 is about toxicity.
Step 1 – What are you putting in your mouth
I am not really into the word diet. It has all these energetic attachments to it, so let’s just talk about what you put into your mouth. It is a universal law that energy in is relative to energy out and this relates to the food and things that we orally ingest.
We are basically a tube. We put stuff in one end and we absorb what we want to from it and then it comes out the other end. Easy in theory though there are many other things to consider about our digestion. Stay tuned for more info..
There is so much conflicting info out there about what is the right thing to do, it is no wonder people get so confused. We are encouraged to eat right for blood types, metabolic types, allergies, season, daylight, constitutions, shape, humane reasons, weight loss reasons, the list can go on and on. Are you trying the 80:20 diet, Mediterranean diet, Clean diet, vegan diet, Jenny Craig, Ornish diet, TLC diet, vegetarian diet, I could go on and on and on. Personally I find it so bloody confusing.
I used to own and run a Raw Food Cafe for 3 years and people would come in and say,
“Are you Vegan? Are you vegetarian? Are you 100% raw? What are You?”
They would look quite disappointed when I said I am me and I eat whatever, whenever. I soon realised my café was not just a raw café it was a wholefood organic café that sold raw vegetarian and vegan foods.
I know some food makes me feel better and some makes me feel tired, some feels better in warmer weather, and some in colder weather. Some constipates me, some makes me feel energised, some is great when I feel shitty and some is great when I want to shine my radiance. I am aware that foods can lift or dampen my spirits. Are you?
Being confined to certain foods, let’s face it is being confined. It is empowering to know that your body knows what is right for you and for you to follow that guidance.
As with all things in life I like to keep it simple, if you eat food in packets, you will start to look like a packet. If you eat food with lots of preservatives you will be preserved, eat lots of fat you will be fat, nuts you will be nutty. I could go on. Moderation is always the key to a balanced life as is eating healthy alive whole foods as much as you can.
I also used to own and run a 175 acre certified Bio-dynamic farm with my family and here we worked in the garden, growing organic veggies and then we would pick them and eat them within one hour of harvesting them. Now that was a rush, that was eating real live food and from then I have never looked back. Now I still manage to grow fresh greens about 8 to 10 months of the year and it feels so good eating fresh organic live food.
I feel it in my body. I know the food is making me feel better. I am connected to my body and what I out into my mouth.
So what’s my point here?
We are all unique, we are all individual and we can change what and when we eat. Eat when hungry and eat what feels good. Now you could say eating jelly beans feels good, though do they? Is that your head or your body saying that? How connected are you to your inner guidance?
I would like to make another point and I could upset people, though here goes.
All allergies, intolerances, gut issues and even health issues can be changed. Allergies can be overcome, guts can be repaired. In my 30 years as a wholistic practitioner I have never seen any orthodox drugs help, support or dare I say it ‘heal’ the digestive system. I do not think it is going to happen in the next 30 years either.
Herbs on the other hand, they rock! The nurture, nourish, heal and support. Yer, they might taste bad, though get over it. Would you rather have diverticulitis and head up the path to bowel cancer or would you rather eat stuff that tastes bitter once a day for 3 to 6 months. Mmmmm Now that is the question. Not popping one pill and being done with it. It might actually take time and energy to reverse the damage that has been done to your body.
So I will impart some knowledge here before leaving this Part 1.
When it comes to digestion, the most important thing to do it is HEAL the GUT. If you want to eat certain foods then take the time to heal the gut, this can take up to 18 months and to be honest most people pike out and give up.
When we heal our gut we become less intolerant to foods, though we do tend to find through the healing process that our desire for foods not suited to our constitution dos diminish. As I said before all allergies and conditions can be overcome and changed.
So let me give you an idea of what might need healing.
- Stomach acid – is it acidic. We commonly believe or are told we are over acid when in reality the opposite is often true.
- Probiotic levels – these are easily wiped out, coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, sugary foods, processed food and the list goes on
- Enzyme activity – are you eating over 50% raw wholefoods? If not you will need enzymes to help overcome the fatigue
- Liver function – vital to digestion and fat absorption
- Pancreatic and other secretory organs – are you releasing gastrin, trypsin, amylase and are your Peyer patches happy?
- Tissue integrity – are your gut linings happy and complete? I must say I believe over 80% of the population are not and leaky guts are in the blood stream of millions of people
I was walking in the supermarket today looking at people’s faces, liver signs, allergies, kidney signs, and intolerances, there were some sick looking faces.
It is all easily rectified and changed. I believe there is no disease or disease state that cannot be healed or reversed. In Russia young medical students are healing broken bones with vibration in minutes, in China, people are healing their own cancers through the power of prayer and intention, also in minutes.
It’s time for us to catch up with this belief and mindset. I can help you with that.
I have worked and specialised in gut healing and repair for a long time. I had to heal mine, I had leaky gut, spastic colon, twisted bowel, ulcerative colitis and it hurt!
I have seen the healing and transformation that occurs once we start to change what we are putting into our mouths. We might be able to eat one thing this month, though not the next. That is OK, as our bodies change continually. Our bodies will always guide us to what is right and best for us at the time.
