Fear and Doubt Drives Us

That’s all that it takes, fear and desire.

Takes for what, you may ask? For us to move, I reply.

We see it everywhere. It is add campaigns, it is on the news, it’s advertising pictures, its breaking news.

Fear makes us move away from something and desire makes us move towards it. They are the emotions that get us to take action. We either want it or we want to get away from it.

Be mindful about the motivation behind what it is that we are being told. What is fear mongering news and where are we being moulded and shaped to go?

This is not old news. We are creatures of instinct like all living creatures and we will naturally move away from things that are not good for us.

This has been seen in the cell. The beautiful soul Bruce Lipton had cells in a petri-dish, or somewhere like that and then he exposed these cells to unpleasant things and of course the cells moved away. Even loud heavy music could make the cells want to go the other way.

Then he exposed the cells to things that they loved and they moved towards that, yes even music as well. I am sure a bit of baroque was appealing to the cells.

The reality is that we are masses of trillions of cells and we still gravitate towards or away way from things. One cell or trillions, if we do not like it we do not like it and we want to get away.

The other place we see this is with animals and children and I am sure you can relate. Animals and kids will move towards the safest person or place in the house. It is instinctual. If two parents are rowing and there is hostility, they will still go to the parent that feels the safest to them. Now this is a feeling thing because dogs can’t talk our language though they know how to be safe. And so do children.

If fear and desire move us, how does it move us?

We see current affair, medication adds, news reports. Look at the headlines in newspapers. It’s all highly charged fear words to stop us going there.

This is why I do not read newspapers (plus the chopping down trees thing) and I do not watch the news. It is depressing.

The other sign of the other side of that is where advertisments promise you will look fabulous if you eat this, drink this, go there. You will look so cool, and sexy and happy. Well it does not work that way. Sorry to bust your bubble. It is merely advertising.

So what is the point of this article?

The point is to be aware, be mindful. There is a lot of personal development that comes from awareness.

What are you surrounding yourself with on a daily basis?

Who and how we spend our time dictates how our life is going to be.

It’s simple question. Am I moving away from fear or towards desire?

That’s the lesson for today.
