How would it benefit us knowing our purpose?
There is all this talk about finding your purpose.
What is it all about?
What is our Purpose?
Many of us are aimlessly wandering around the planet, merely existing.
Doing the daily chores, cooking, kids, cleaning, work, maybe some socialising here and there.
Though what is it that ignites us? That makes up want to jump out of bed?
That makes us feel alive?
After all, it is the time of awakening and time to be alive.
Our purpose is following what feels good. It is the thing that lights us up, gives us a spark in our eyes and gives us that “Yes” feeling. Just like when we are hungry at a restaurant and a beautiful meal comes out and is placed before us.
It is us honouring ourselves, what we truly want to be doing, sharing and creating and it is our authentic self being present with what we truly are. It is when we come home to our true selves.
Following our passion is not heavy, nor complicated. It is something that lifts our spirits and leaves us feeling fulfilled and alive.
So how do We Find it?
There are many people who specialise in this field and it is often through questioning, asking about our live, loves and passions that we start to fine tune what is our true purpose.
I personally believe it is a good idea to start giving yourself a smaller purpose as this gives you a sense of starting to own your ‘I AM’ and then going from there.
You could start by saying ‘I AM a loving Mother’ which could lead onto ‘I AM a Healer’ which could then go further, it could end up with ‘I AM a teacher.’ Who knows where it can lead to?
Remember we do not have to have one purpose. We may do many things and feel passionate about them all. It is the passion that motivates us.
This does not have to be a happy ever after story. You can change it at will.
So let’s explore some thought pondering questions that can get you started
- What did you like to do as a child that made you feel excited, absorbed and happy?
- What do you really like doing, something that lets time slips by and you do not even notice?
- What are your unique talents?
- What satisfies your needs?
- What expands your mind and your spirit?
- What do you admire about others?
- What does your heart desire?
- What brings you action?
- What are your values?
- Complete the sentence “If I had no possibility of failing I would ….”
Passion + Daily Action = Purposeful Life
So for us to step into our purpose we are going to have to step out of our comfort zone.
It is very easy for us to become comfortable with the life we have been living with. When we stay in our safety bubble, we know where we are. Things stay the same we are solid, stable and safe.
When we start to follow our purpose we walk away from safety. The two are at either end of the stick. We can hold the safety stick and things keep plodding along at the same rate, or we grab the other end of the stick, step out of safety and into new areas. This is where growth is and this is where we take the risks for change.
It is very easy for safety to win and for most of us we stay in the safe zone. There are fewer risks there, we will not get hurt, burnt, rejected, fall, look bad, be disapproved off or all the other life fears we have. Though the reality is that for change to occur we have to face these fears to create change.
It is easy to stay nice, good, clean and secure. Though come on guys, what’s the fun in that?
Yes we will get confronted. Yes we could lose and we could also win!
The fact of the matter is that when we are on purpose we are living.
